If you want to enjoy rain in Wayanad visit during July and September. Even during the winter months from November to February, you can see mesmerizing mist-clad mountain peaks. You can enjoy the beautiful waterfalls during the monsoon or just after the monsoon recedes in October. It is a treat to drive on the serpentine roads with beautiful tea gardens on either side.

Soojipara water falls

Soojipara waterfall is located 23 km from Kalpetta. It is a beautiful water falls tucked away in the Western Ghats. You have to trek a km inside the forest to reach the bottom of the waterfall. Proper steps are laid on the way. It is a beautiful sight to watch the water cascading from a height of 650 feet with a deafening sound.

The drive from Kalpetta to Soojipara present a beautiful sight of tea gardens on either side of the serpentine roads that form a velvety green blanket on the sloping hills. When you reach Meppadi, a village on the way, take a turn to your right to reach the Soojipara waterfall. Here again, the road passes through some of the beautiful tea gardens. There are a few eateries where you can have snacks.

Meenmutty waterfall is a magnificent waterfall surrounded by lush green tea gardens in the Wayanad district. It presents a beautiful sight of the water cascading from a height of 300 meters in three tiers.

Meenmutty water falls is located at 30 km from Kalpetta the district headquarters of Wayanad.

Pookode Lake is 12.5 km from the district headquarters Kalpetta on the way to Calicut/Kozhikode. When you reach Vythiri, take to the right to reach Pookode Lake. It is a scenic place surrounded by dense forests. It is located at an altitude of 770 meters.

Pookode Lake is the most popular tourist place with boating felicities. You can hire peddle boats, rowboats, and enjoy your boating. It is spread in an area of 8.5 hectares with a maximum depth is 6.5 meters.

Lakkidi View Point/Thamrassery Churam is a ghat section that connects Wayanad with the port town of Calicut/Kozhikode.

Lakkidi is at the highest point in Wayanad and from here the valley presents a breathtaking view. With mountain ranges on one side and the valley on the other, is a must-visit place on your Wayanad tour.

Lakkidi is the highest rainfall area in Wayanad. The annual rainfall of Lakkidi reaches 600 to 650 cm.

Chembra Peak

The most picturesque mountain ranges in Wayanad is the Chembra Peak. Located at an elevation of 6,890 feet MSL is the second highest peak in South India. Chembra peak is a trekkers paradise.

Kuruva Island is a group of islands formed by the Kabini river. It is spread in an area of about 950 acres. It is rich in flora and fauna. A visit to Kuruva Islands takes you entirely to a new world of peace and tranquility. You can hear the sound of chirping of birds, and occasionally the trumpeting of wild Elephants that visits the islands grazing.
