Kullu

Kullu a beautiful hill station is  located at a distance of 210 km from Shimla.

Kullu is normally clubbed with Shimla and Manali for the best experience of the hill stations.

Kullu town is situated at an elevation of 4,200 feet MSL on the banks of river Beas in the state of Himachal Pradesh.

The entire district of Kullu is full of valleys and the largest  valley is the Kullu valley. The valley is famous for temples, natural beauty and majestic mountain ranges.

Kullu is formerly known as Kulant peeth meaning the end of inhabitable world. It has a mention in the Hindu Epics of Rmayana, Mahabharatha and the Vishnu Purana.

Kullu weather

Kullu has summer, monsoon and winter seasons. The summer is between March and June with temperature ranging between 25’C and 35’C which is the best time for tours and activities.

Kullu experiences monsoon between July and mid September during which time the temperatures would be 24’C and 27’C with irregular showers and landslides. It is not the ideal time to travel.

Kullu experiences the lowest temperatures during winter with average temperature between 5’C and -9’C. There would be lot of snowfall.

Kullu is always visited along with Shimla and Manali.

During winter from October to December and during summer months of March to july.
