Udaipur

Udaipur is popularly known as the city of Lakes on account of its sophisticated lake system. The city is surrounded by five lakes namely, Swaroop sagar Lake,Fateh sagar Lake, Doodh Tali Lake, Rang sagar Lake and Lake Pichola.  It is in the state of Rajasthan in India. Udai Singh II of Sisodia clan of Rajputs founded Udaipur in 1558. The British Administrator James Tod has called Udaipur as the most Romantic spot in India.

It is located on the southern most part of Rajasthan  on the border of Gujarath. The Aravali range separates it from the Thar Desert.

It is a popular tourist destination with scenic locations, history, culture,  magnificent forts and places of Rajput era.
