Tadoba National Park

Tadoba National Park is also known as the Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve.. It is located in the Chandrapur district of Maharashtra state in India. The Tadoba Andahari Tiger Reserve is spread in an area of 1737 square km. Tadoba National park is at a distance of 150 km from Nagpur city.

Tadoba National park-Flora and Fauna

The flora of Tadoba comprises of tropical dry deciduous vegetation with Teak forming the major tree species in the region. The national park is spread across many hillocks deep valleys and terrains.

The Tiger Reserve has earned a name for the jungle safari in an open jeep that facilitates easy sighting of Tigers. Apart from Tigers the Sloth Berrr, Sambar deer,Chital,Striped Hyena,spotted deer, and Nilgai can be sighted here.

How to reach Tadoba National Park

Tadoba does not have an airport or a railway station.

By train- Chandrapur railway station at 36 km is the nearest rail head at 36 km.
By flight-Nagpur International airport at 140 km is the nearest airport
By road- The nearest bus stations are Chandrapur and Chirmur. You have to reach these bus stations and hire a local transport to reach the National park.

The weather during the summer months between March  and June  is hot with average maximum temperature would at 36’C and the average minimum temperature would be around 27’C. The monsoon months between June to September receives heavy rainfall. The average maximum temperature during monsoon would be 35’C and the average minimum temperature would be around 24’C. The winter months between October and February the average maximum temperature would be 28’C and the average minimum temperature would be 16’C.

1st Oct to 30th Nov- Entry 6.00 am to 8.00 am and entry 2.30 pm to 4.00 pm
1st Dec to end Feb- Entry 6.30 am to 8.30 am and entry 2.00 pm to 3.30 pm
1st Mar to 30th Apr- Entry 5.30 am to 7.30 am and entry 3.00 pm to 4.30 pm
1st May to 30th Jun- Entry 5.00 am to 7.00 am and entry 3.30 pm to 5.00 pm

Best time to visit Tadoba National Park

The post monsoon months from October to June is the best time to visit as the chances of Tiger sighting is more during this time.
