Ranthambore National Park
Ranthambore Tiger Reserve/Ranthambore National Park is a National Park in the state of Rajasthan India. Established as Sawai Madhopur Game sanctuary in 1955 was declared a Tiger Reserve in 1973 by the Government of India. It bacame a National Park in 1980.
It is a deciduous forest with home for Royal Bengal Tiger, striped hyena, leopard, wild boar and langur.
How to reach Ranthambore Tiger Reserve
Ranthambore is well connected by road, rail and air.
By road- It is well connected by road to different parts of Rajasthan. Sawai Madhopur is the nearest town at 114 km. However, Jaipur at 130 km is ideal to travel.
By rail- A large number of trains connecting to different parts of central India have a halt in Sawai Mahopur railway station.
By air- Jaipur airport at 160 km is the nearest airport

Summer in Ranthmbore is between March to June with average maximum temperature ranging between 37’C and 41’C. The minimum temperatures ranges between 16’C to 29’C. The monsoon months are between June to September with maximum temperatures between 41’C to 31’C. The winter months start from October and lasts up to March with average maximum temperature of 23’C and average minimum of 10’C.

Safari
Safari inside the National Park is done twice daily both in the morning and evening. It starts from 06.30 am and at 2.30 pm. Each safari ride is of 3 hours duration.
