Kullu is on the banks of Beas river in the Kullu valley in the district headquarters of Kullu district in the state of Himachal Pradesh. It is located at an altitude of 4,193 feet MSL. The valley is formed by Beas river. The valley is famous for the Deodar and Pine trees.

The magnificent mountain ranges, beautiful valleys and forests attracts a lot of tourists, honeymooners, photographers, nature lovers all the year round.
As a tourist destination it is always visited with Shimla and Manali.

Kullu weather

The area has pleasant weather throughout the year. The main seasons are Summer, winter and the monsoon. The average maximum temperature in summer months reach to 36’C and the minimum is 26’C. The winter months from November to February witness an average maximum temperature of 17’C and the average minimum would be 5’C. There are instances of temperature going subzero. The monsoon months of July and August witness a maximum temperature of 32’C and a minimum of 22’C.

Best time to visit Kullu

The period between February and June are ideal to visit.  Where as December and March is ideal to enjoy snow fall

How to reach Kullu

By air- Buntar is the nearest airport that serves Kullu and Manali
By train- Jogindernagar at 100 km is the nearest rail head.
By road- It is easily and conveniently reached by road. There are regular bus service from as far off places as New Delhi. You can also reach Chandigarh and hire a cab to cover the circuit of Shimla, Kullu and Manali.
