Bekal

Bekal is a small town in Kasargod district of Kerala. It is on the extreme North in the state of Kerala at 16 km from Kasaragod, the district head quarters on national Highway 66. A small deviation from the National Highway in Pallikere takes you to Bekal.

It is the most sought after beach destination for nature lovers.

Bekal is famous for the Keyhole type Bekal Fort, one of the best preserved Forts in Kerala. The water sports that has great attractions is in Kasargod 16 km from Bekal. The sight of sunset behind the Arabian sea presents a spectacular sight. The beaches are not crowded and you can enjoy the romantic evenings.

As it is located on the shores of Arabian Sea, the weather is hot and humid. The summer months from April to June is hot with average maximum temperature reaching 32’C. The winter months from November to March are little cooler with average maximum temperature ranges between 25’C and 20’C.. The monsoon months from June to September receives heavy rainfall.
