Andaman Nicobar Islands are an archipelago in the Bay of Bengal  in the Union Territory in India. This island  is a group of 306 small Islands. Only 37 islands are inhabited. Out of which, few are open to tourists.

It is famous for the beautiful palm-fringed beaches, lagoons with blue waters. It is a piece of beach paradise. Andaman Nicobar Islands are around 1,400 km from India.

Port Blair is the capital of Andaman Nicobar Islands. It is the gateway to other Islands.

The major islands are Havelock Island, Neil Island, Baratang Island, Diglipur Island, Maya bunder Island, Little Andaman Island, North Bay Island, Ross Island, Jolly Buoy Island, and Red Skin Island. The most popular islands in the archipelago are  Havelock and Niel Islands.

Andaman Nicobar islands have some of the best beaches, and are the most popular beach destinations. Time magazine has rated Radhanagar Beach in Havelock Island as the best beach in Asia.

The Islands have a tropical climate. Summer months from March to June are hot with an average maximum temperature of 30-32’C and an average minimum temperature of 23-25’C. The monsoon months receive heavy rains. The winter months between October and March is pleasant with an average maximum temperature between 30-31’C and an average minimum between 23-25’C.

Best time to visit

Best time to visit Andaman islands is between October and May. Weather is pleasant for sightseeing and water sports. Sea waves are ideal to spend time of the beach.

The most popular out door activities in Andaman Islands are Snorkeling, Scuba diving, Elephant ride. You can even spend long hours on the uncrowded beaches lazily with out engaging in any  activity.
