Horanadu is a famous pilgrimage center dedicated to Goddess Annapoorneshwari. The location of temple is unique in the sense it is surrounded by dense forest, coffee plantations and tea gardens providing a green cover. The temple is located on a scenic background on the banks of Bhadra river.
The presiding diety of the temple Annapoorneshwari literally means Anna is food and poorneshwari is the goddess. Free food is served three times for all those visiting the temple. It is believed that Agsthya Maharshi constructed the temple
